Grandmother Feels the Love

Caring for three grandchildren, ages 6, 8, and 9, grandmother Wanda can become overwhelmed by her responsibilities. That’s why she reached out to the Foundation to find the support she needed. Now, with the help of the staff at FFC, Wanda and her kids are doing much better.

When asked about her experience working with the Foundation, Wanda had this to say:

“I don’t know what I would do without you guys! You always come through for me….and that’s the truth! It’s a challenge but when you have someone out there that’s helping you, it’s comforting…..along with knowing that I’m not the only family that you’re helping. I’m pretty sure the other families feel the same way I do!”

All three children benefit from two of our pillar programs: Education+ and Fostering Success Grants. Through Education+, we provide ongoing tutoring, educational support, and advocacy. Through Fostering Success, we help the kids obtain the materials they need, such as school supplies or uniforms.

Prior to hitting the books this school year, the children also enjoyed summer camp, coordinated by the Foundation. Additionally, they received uniform shirts and a bicycle. Clearly these kids and their grandmother have a great relationship with the Foundation for Foster Children!
