Make Spring Sweet for Foster Children

100% of the proceeds from each Tulip cookie sold in participating Orlando Panera Bread bakery-cafes from May 10-24 will directly support the Foundation

Covelli Family Limited Partnership, part of the largest franchisee of Panera, LLC, is partnering with the Foundation for Foster Children for National Foster Care Month throughout 32 bakery-cafes in the Greater Orlando area. From May 10-24, participating bakery-cafes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from every Tulip cookie purchased to the Foundation for Foster Children.

The freshly baked all-butter shortbread cookie is shaped like a tulip and decorated in yellow or pink icing to celebrate the colorful, spring season. Individual cookies are available for purchase, with six-packs available for a group sweet treat for $11.99.

“For 12 years now, we have partnered with the Foundation for Foster Children to support their mission of enriching the lives of many foster children here in Central Florida,” said Kevin Ricci, owner of Covelli Family Limited Partnership. “Together with the help of our generous customers, we are hopeful that our 2021 Tulip cookie campaign will continue to bring awareness and support to our partners and all they are doing for foster youth in our community.”

The proceeds from this campaign will directly impact the more than 1,500 children currently in the foster care system in Central Florida at any given time. The Foundation provides funding and in-kind support for the unmet needs of those foster youth through its core programs: Educate, Enrich, Empower. These programs were established to provide comprehensive academic support, access to extracurricular activities, and guidance needed as they transition to adulthood. The hallmarks of these programs target the areas essential to changing a child’s direction from government assistance to independent members of our community.

“This campaign directly supports foster youth in Central Florida with access to tutoring, athletics, college prep, and more,” said Robert Newkirk, Executive Director of Foundation for Foster Children. “Larger than the financial impact is the amount of awareness this brings to the work we’re doing every day to give these children a chance at a brighter future. We are so blessed to partner with Covelli Enterprises for another amazing fundraiser.”

Those interested in supporting the campaign can get their cookies safely and conveniently with multiple ordering options available. Panera Curbside, Rapid Pick-Up®, or contactless delivery orders can be placed at or through the Panera Bread mobile app. Tulip cookies can also be purchased in-café or drive-thru.
