Building Self-Confidence With Music

Building Self Confidence with music

This weekend, several children and teens from group homes in Orange and Osceola counties performed at a recital to showcase their hard work learning piano and guitar! FFC funds guitars and music lessons in these group homes to help build self-confidence with music and furthermore complement the tutoring and educational support provided through our Education+ program.

Even though music is an enriching part of life, many foster children might not ever get the chance to experience playing an instrument. Since the state doesn’t consider these extracurriculars “necessary” expenses, however enriching, they often push aside or ignore the costs.

The Foundation for Foster Children commits itself to fund these kinds of expenses: ones that kids might not “require” but are still just as vital to a child’s success and happiness. This falls under the Foundation’s dedication to providing children with normalcy.

Through our Fostering Success program, local foster children are given the opportunity to discover hidden talents, boost their self-esteem and self-confidence, and begin to uncover their individual potential. You can help to provide such enrichment opportunities for foster children by becoming a monthly donor today. For as little as $10 or $20 per month, you can help a child discover a love of music, art, or athletics!
