Joann Luke — Educate Program Manager

Joann Luke is the Program Manager for Educate. Originating from upstate New York, Joann has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Africana Studies from the University of New York at Albany (SUNY). Working with children has always been a strength and enjoyment for Joann. She has worked previously in New York as a Parent Liaison in the elementary school system. After coming to Florida in 2021 during the height of the pandemic, Joann quickly found her place with the youth again, working as an Enrollment Specialist in a local childcare facility for two years.

Joann also is a Certified grades 5-9 ELA Teacher. Most recently, Joann was teaching in the Seminole county school district as a K-5 Elementary ESE Teacher. She came to the foundation with a deeper drive and commitment for wanting to work with children outside of the classroom and on a collaborative and personal level. Joann hopes to continue to make an impact and help to facilitate the foundation’s mission by not only inspiring the youth but supporting their future. Outside of her time at the foundation, Joann lives with her daughter Myla and her son Jru who are 8 and 12 years old. She also has two cats and one dog, that keep her busy.

Actively involved in the Seminole County School district, Joann volunteers her spare time with her children’s school clubs and PTA. She enjoys going to the beach, water parks and traveling in her downtime. Joann looks forward to excelling in her new career with the foundation and hopes to build upon the foundation’s mission while creating everlasting memories with staff and youth.
