Andrew Lopez — Advocate
The son of Peruvian immigrants, Andrew was born in Queens, NY and raised in Miami, FL. After graduating from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, he has gone on to have a robust career in youth and young adult advocacy. His previous roles include advocating for college students through his work at Cru (a faith-based parachurch organization), church youth ministry, and teaching both middle and high school.
After finding his Christian faith in college, Andrew changed his career paths from becoming a lawyer to ministry work, with a passion to help youth and young adults grow in their emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical capabilities. His passion led him to FFC where he continues to live out his calling and help the students in the Empower program feel seen and heard, help them learn valuable life skills, and help them achieve their full potential to try to live their best lives.
Outside of work, Andrew is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree with a specialty in Youth and Family Ministries. He attends Journey Church and loves to serve and help with outreach whenever he can. He loves sports (specifically basketball), crossword puzzles, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
