Shannon McCarthy — Program Operations Coordinator

Shannon joined the Foundation in April 2022. Shannon has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management and is a graduate of the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida. Shannon is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University. 

Shannon came to the Foundation with experience from a variety of positions in hospitality. She has previously work in guest services in Hilton hotels and worked as a Wedding Coordinator and Events Specialist in Catering. During her college years Shannon volunteered within Orange County Public Schools talking to classes about the college experience and college prep. She also volunteered teaching in an Indigenous school in San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico teaching basic English and Math Skills in partnership with the Burnett Honor College during a study abroad experience. She has a passion for helping others and providing access to resources for underserved populations. 

Shannon is a native Floridian, born and raised in Stuart, Fl on the east coast. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling as much she can. In her free time, she likes to practice yoga and visit the dog park with her two pups Petey and Ollie. Her hobbies include photography, gardening, and creating art.
