Karen Calhoun — Finance & Administration Manager

Karen has been the Office Manager at the Foundation since 2015 and in 2017 transitioned to her new role as Finance & Administration Manager, due to her diligent efforts and sound skills. Karen is very reliable and is an expert at keeping the operations of the office flowing smoothly. Karen also serves as a key assistant to the Executive Director.

Karen holds an Associate of Arts, as well as a degree in court reporting from Jones College for Court Reporting. Karen also completed Dale Carnegie’s Leadership Training and additionally obtained her Florida Real Estate license.

After her time in college, she went on to work at a law office, and later in sales and as the Director of Marketing for a shopping center developer. This all took place before she became a stay-at-home mother, which she would do for sixteen years before re-entering the workforce. Most recently, before coming to the Foundation, Karen served as the Assistant to the Athletic Director at Bishop Moore High School, the high school which her children attended and which she also attended as a youth.

Karen is proficient in QuickBooks and has taken several classes at the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership. She is also a notary public.

Karen is a very proud mother of two recent college graduates, Chandler and Robert. She is a Native Floridian who enjoys spending time with her children, as often as possible. She also enjoys cooking, is an avid reader, and loves to take on new and creative home improvement projects, inspired by HGTV.
