Lauren Prekop, MSW — Community Engagement Manager

Lauren joined the Foundation in 2014. Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and a Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Lauren completed the Children’s Services track while in her master’s degree program. After two years of serving as the Program and Volunteer Manager, Lauren became the Community Engagement Manager, a perfect fit for her love of people and her passion for serving foster children.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Lauren worked in the child welfare system for over five years, serving foster children and families as a case manager and later as a lead adoption specialist. Lauren was able to help reunify many children with their families, as well as find forever families for children who could not be reunified. Lauren received the Innovation Award, Star Award, and Star of the Quarter Award. These awards were given due to her diligent advocacy and persistence to obtain resources. While working in child welfare, Lauren also wrote stories of hope, which received recognition by executive leadership and were published in agency communications.

Lauren has also worked abroad as a social worker in child protection in the United Kingdom. She met the standards to become a Qualified Social Worker and was registered under the General Social Care Council.

Lauren is presently a member of ATHENA Next Gen, a women’s leadership group in Orlando. She also belongs to the Toastmasters Technically Speaking club in Winter Park. In her spare time, Lauren loves to spend time with her son, Noah, enjoying nature, visiting theme parks and museums, and traveling.
