Betsey Bell, MSW — Executive Director
Betsey Bell joined the Foundation for Foster Children in 2012 as the executive director. Since then, she has expanded program offerings, opened access to assistance, and more than doubled the number of foster children served in the community. With unwavering commitment, Betsey has enhanced collaboration with local community organizations focused on child advocacy, ensuring that foster children receive the necessary resources to succeed.
Betsey’s strategic approach to fostering community awareness and improving long term outcomes for foster children was developed out of past experience as the executive director of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation where she granted over $1 million to local non-profits. In addition to her time with the Orlando Magic, Betsey oversaw the Community Benefit program for Orlando Health and coordinated efforts in diversity and community relations for Darden Restaurants.
A native of North Carolina, Betsey completed her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Upon moving to Florida, she completed a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Today she serves on the Elevate Orlando Board of Directors and is a 3rd Grade Sunday School teacher and Small Group leader at her church.
In her spare time, Betsey and her husband, Rechaud, stay busy with their six children: Emmanuella, Esperanza, Julia, Johanna, Britton, and Hanson. Betsey’s devotion to the family begins at home and having adopted from foster care, she not only believes in the mission of the Foundation for Foster Children, she lives it.
