Enrichment Program and Fundraising for Foster Children
The Foundation for Foster Children’s first FIESTA FOR FOSTER CHILDREN enrichment program, was a great success! Guests could tell they were in for something special. Upon entering the beautiful Full Sail Live backlot, they saw the race track for the chihuahua races, constructed and sponsored by Fence Outlet. The race took place during the event and the tiny pups gave it all they had! As the four-piece Mariachi Band played lively fiesta music, guests lined up to purchase their All You Can Drink Margaritas in a keepsake Corkcicle cup. The smell of delicious food filled the air. We had empanadas by our special sponsors 4Rivers, Tacos In A Bag and chips and queso by Arthur’s Catering. Also had a brand new Southwest Chile Lime Salad by our great friends and supporters Panera. It truly was a party, and guests felt like they were transported to a quaint little village in Mexico.
Of course, this was all about raising money to enable the Foundation to continue enhancement and enrichment of the lives of children in foster care. There was a fantastic silent auction, with one of a kind item like vacation packages in incredible private homes, a private plane and pilot for a day for 5. A private in-home cooking class by the infamous John Rivers, owner of the hugely popular 4Rivers restaurant, and more. Guests were also treated to a beautiful video that demonstrated the vital work of enrichment done by the Foundation, and the impact it has on the lives of children in foster care. The presentation was very moving, and guests were incredibly generous, donating to ensure children in foster care receive the personal support they need for their success.
After the short presentation, it was back to the party! Guests lined up to ride Firecracker the mechanical bull! Our sponsors Fields Automotive had a fun and interactive Selfie Station. And what was that amazing, tempting smell? The Churros and Cream Dessert Truck. What better way to end a fabulous fiesta than with a Mexican sweet treat that had everyone licking their lips. As guests departed, they had a chance to have a swing at the pinata where everyone was a winner – even those with no shame in their game! As we wished everyone Buenos Noches, and Muchas Gracias, we were already thinking about next year’s FIESTA and how it will be even more Fantastic! Ole!
