Lee Bennett, CWCM — Education Advocate
Lee joined the Foundation in July 2016, as the Education Advocate. Lee has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Ohio University. Additionally, Lee has a Certificate as a Guardian Ad Litem and Education Surrogate within the State of Florida.
Lee comes to the Foundation with eight years of child welfare experience. Lee started in the field as an Intern in Protective Services with Athens County Children Services in the State of Ohio. In 2010, she was employed as a Dependency Case Manager with Directions for Mental Health where she received her Child Protection Certification and successfully completed the Guardian Ad Litem Program. In 2011, Lee relocated to Seminole County working with Human Services Associates of Community Base Care of Central Florida continuing her services as a Dependency Case Manager. In 2013, Lee transitioned to Volusia County as a Courtesy Case Manager with Community Partnership for Children working with children placed in the State of Florida from out of state or out of County. In 2014, as an aspiration to further develop herself professionally she became employed with Florida United Methodist Children’s Home as the Education Coordinator working with special needs education youth within the Volusia County Schools. Most recently, Lee worked with Open Doors for Independent Living Program working with young adults in transitional housing further developing their life skills and academic futures.
Lee is originally from Illinois, has traveled extensively within the United States and Europe. She enjoys exploring new places, has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and spending time with her family.
